This Week in the Community
Let’s dive into the lineup for this week’s Lede Yoruba sessions:
Hello, language enthusiasts and learners of Lede Yoruba!
In our story session, we will focus on two commonly used Yoruba words that both mean "to use" but are applied differently in sentences:
"Fi" – typically means to use or apply something with a sense of attaching or associating it with another action. Example: "Fi àwo ṣeun" (Use the plate to eat).
"Lo" – while it also means to use, it implies making use of something or utilizing it directly. Example: "Lo ṣáfà lọ́wọ́ rẹ" (Use the sofa for your hands). In this week's movie session, we’ll explore a workplace scenario where someone is reminded to do their task properly.
