Lédè Yorùbá is 1!!! 💃🥂🎂🎁🎈🎉🎊

Greetings, language enthusiasts!

We have reached a significant milestone at Lédè Yorùbá. It's our 1-year anniversary!!! We couldn't be more thrilled to celebrate this momentous occasion with all of you. Let me take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible individuals who joined us on Day 1 and have remained a vital part of our community throughout this amazing journey so far! A special shoutout goes to Kudiratu, Robert, Titi, Julianah, Iyin, and Tosin. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to learning Yoruba with us. Here's to many more years of language exploration together!

Learn Yoruba with Stories and Current Issues:

As we dive into the anniversary month, we have a captivating theme for our Stories & Issues sessions. Throughout July, we'll delve into names in Yoruba that hold imprints in history and culture. This week, we invite you to learn Yoruba with the story of Ajala the traveller. In Yoruba culture, when someone is called "Ajala," it signifies their constant wanderlust and love for travel. Join us as we explore the linguistic nuances and cultural significance behind this name. Discover the richness of Yoruba language while immersing yourself in the captivating tale of Ajala and his adventures across the world. Get ready to expand your vocabulary and deepen your understanding of Yoruba cultural heritage.

Learn Yoruba with Movies:

Lights, camera, and pure Yoruba delight! In our movie session this week, we're reviewing "Atona," a film that offers a unique linguistic experience. Join us on a journey where jealousy takes center stage as a girlfriend expresses her emotions purely in Yoruba, without using any English words - this is not required skill in contemporary Yoruba but knowing that it is possible illustrates the depth of the language. In this scene, you will immerse yourself in a full Yoruba language experience, complete with praises, admiration, sharp rebukes, and even a collection of Yoruba proverbs. Through the girlfriend's praise for her sister and her sharp condemnation, we'll explore the depth and beauty of the Yoruba language. Get ready to master expressions of admiration and rebuke, while unraveling the wisdom of Yoruba proverbs.

As usual, we will have the "Meet and Chat" sessions that have no agenda and allows you organically express your thoughts to each other.

This week's schedule is the same as always.
