Hey there, language enthusiasts!
Welcome back to our Yoruba language learning blog post, where we bring you the latest updates and exciting topics for our upcoming events this week. A ní ìkéde méjì - we have two announcements - and engaging sessions lined up, so let's jump right in!
Website Announcements:
We're thrilled to announce two exciting additions to our website that will enhance your language learning experience. First off, we have introduced a brand new translation service! If there is a project (website, book, audio, etc) you are working on that requires translation, your friendly neighborhood translator is on standby! Check it out here.
Secondly, we've made some changes to make the website more intuitive. The event signup now resides in our Community tab on the website. Simply head over there, choose the events you're interested in, and secure your spot. We can't wait to see you in our upcoming sessions!
Learn Yoruba with Movies:
This week, we'll be reviewing an intriguing scene from a Yoruba movie that will have you on the edge of your seat. The scene revolves around a wife who starts to question her husband's movements and faithfulness. Will he be able to defend himself against her accusations? His excuse? Blaming it all on traffic! As we explore this scene, you'll have the opportunity to learn vocabulary related to night crawling and navigating the streets. Some people might even accuse us of getting ready for Detty December in Lagos so early, but don't listen to them. Don't know what Detty December is? Errr... you didn't learn it from me. 😊

Learn Yoruba with Stories and Current Issues:
Fashionistas, unite! In our Stories & Issues sessions this week, we'll be diving into the captivating world of clothing and fashion. From traditional attire to contemporary trends, we'll discuss the significance of clothing in Yoruba culture and explore how fashion plays a role in self-expression. Get ready to unravel the threads of style and discover a whole new dimension of Yoruba culture!
Finally...
We have a special request of you. Pleaseeeeee, tell your friends (and enemies too - we don't discriminate) about the Community. That your cousin or colleague may also be interested in strengthening his/her spoken Yoruba. The easiest way to tell them is to click on the social sharing buttons at the end of this email, and/or you can reach out to them directly in your own words. Let's spread the joy of Yoruba language learning far and wide!
And I don't know if I mention this enough, but THANK YOU again for being a part of our Yoruba learning community (whether or not you are currently active). Always remember that I am here to support you every step of the way.
Keep shining and embracing the beauty of the Yoruba language!
Warm regards,
Mojisola
